Eureka Seven -ready for anime?

Ok time to lift up the geek-factor of this blog. Time to present my all time favorite anime! Yep, normaly i am not into japanese culture or anime but there are a few i realy like to watch. Eureka Seven is my number one and i am not the only one to think that. The series focuses on Renton Thurston, the fourteen-year-old boy. He loves lifting (a sport similar to surfing but with trapar, a substance abundant throughout the air, as the medium). He dreams of joining the renegade group Gekkostate, led by his idol Holland who is a legendary lifter. When a mechanical robot called the Nirvash typeZERO and its pilote Eureka, a member of Gekkostate, crash into his room he joins Gekkostate. Once on board he quickly discovers that the life at Gekkostate is hardly  as glamorous or interesting as he thought. After the first episodes the main characters develop many changes and the plot moves from comming-out-of-age into more sci-fi and spiritual concerning the fact that Eureka Seven takes place 10,000 years after humanity has made a mass exodus into space, due to the arrival of the Scub Coral, an intelligent lifeform who merged with the planet, forcing the humans to abandon it. The remnants of humanity are now settled on an unknown planet (actually a terraformed Earth), but the majority of the surface of this planet is now covered by a rock-like surface formed by the Scub Coral. The Scub Coral inhabited the Planet until the return of humans. The theory is that the Scub Coral is an intelligent life form and seems looking for mutual co-existence with humanity. Does it work at the end? Who or what is Eureka, the mysterious girl Renton falls in love with? The soundtrack is also great and if you don´t like the series perhaps you like the soundtrack.
