September Issue DVD

Todays post is about a documentation from 2009. See, i have never been a person to buy the latest trend the new bestseller or the new album of an artist. I wait a few months or years and then buy it half the price. And if you consider your choice a few moments you can decide if you realy need or love what you want to buy or if it´s just the heath of the moment and after a few days you take it to e-bay. So back to the dvd. If you are like me a little bit into fashion you already know the "september issue" If you don´t - then read ahead :). Nine months a film team acompanied Anna Wintour, editor in chief of the American Vogue. At meetings in the office in the Times Square, in her house in the New York /Greenwich Village and at the Paris fashion week.
Traditionally the September issue of the US-VOGUE is the heavies and most groundbreaking of the year. In 2007 she had 840 sides and weighed about 2.5 kilos. Anna Wintour rules for more than twenty years the magazine and the american fashion world. She was it who helped designers like Marc Jacobs and John Galliano to fame. By the way, her counterpart is vogue paris editor Carine Roitfeld - for me she is the real diva of the two - in a positive way because of her extraordinaire style. Anyway, Emanuelle Altis now new editor since 2011.

Back to the video. The viewer gets to know all the staff behind the issue like Grace Coddington (original soundtrack Anna Wintour: “It is a genius“). As a creative boss she is responsible for the styling of the photo productions. And to save you time - this is what wikipedia says: "The film revolves around the making of the Vogue September 2007 issue. It depicts the effort that goes into making the magazine, and the passion that Grace Coddington, a former model turned creative director and the only person who dares to stand up to Anna Wintour, has for the highly-regarded fashion magazine. In the film, Coddington is often portrayed as the leading victim to Wintour's aggressive personality. However, the relationship between Wintour and Coddington reveals itself to be symbiotic as Wintour recognizes Coddington's expertise and keen eye for design. In the end, Wintour approves most of Coddington's ideas and they appear in the final version of the September issue.
