The Long Good Friday (Ι980)

Attention! Everyone with delicate feelings concerning violence and crime should not watch this film of the late 79´s. Actually it made Bob Hoskins a name and was voted  at number 21 in the British Film Institute's list of the top 100 British films of the 20th century. So hey, it´s nothing that should be hidden in the dark corners of your local video shop. A oldie but classical with my beloved Dame Hellen Mirren in it, gosh how time sets it´s mark on all of our faces. As it is, it´s a movie without a happy end - i can tell right now. Harold,  English gangster, is about to close a lucrative new deal when bombs start showing up in very inconvenient places. A mysterious syndicate is trying to muscle in on his action, and Harold wants to know who they are. He finds out soon enough, and bloody mayhem ensues because it´s the IRA.
