Fragrances & Gossip

Do you remember my quest for a new fragrance? her is the happy ending. I captured a new fragrance that suits my taste very well. It´s "Princess" by Vera Wang. Wang has been famous for her wedding gowns and has also expanded her brand name through her fragrance, jewelry, eyewear, shoe and houseware collections.
Vera Wang says that one of the important reasons for her success, is her admiration of the work of Yves St. Laurent with it's chic, creative and cultured style. She credits her mother for taking her to YSL's salon in Paris when she was growing up, implanting within her a fascination with fashion and style. Her appreciation of surface decoration, particularly beading, and the use of net to give the illusion of bare skin, have also recommended her for the design of Olympic figure-skating costumes. So thats the backround. Of course i know her name when i shopped for parfume. I saw that cute bottle there and after smelling a little bit on that sheet of paper they handle you over and then on my hand i know that it has to be this one.
But to be honest on my wishlist is now  also "Madame" by Jean Paul Gaultier. His name reminded me of John Gaillano although it is a bit embarrasing to speak about him after he got fired by Dior. that was because John Galliano has been found guilty of making racist and anti-Semitic comments in a Paris cafe in February. You can imagine that this story has spread its wings and flew right across the world in no time so it will be hard for him to relaunch his career. Here is a link to his shows, archived by Vogue http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/designer/john-galliano
