David Hockney
A Bigger Splash, 1967, David Hockney | AnOther | Loves
anothermag.com
Art can be found everywhere. Funny enough it´s a movie that brought my attention towards DAvid Hookeny. I love the classic hollywood film "California Suit" with a young Maggie Smith and with even younger Michael Cain, Jane Fonda and Walter Mathau. At the begining, when the names of the actors are shown there are in the backround a few wonderfull pictures. I searched and found that these ones are from David Hockney from his work of the 60´s and 70´s. He was born in the 1930´s in England but spend a considerable amount of his life in the United States.
What i like about his work are his California paintings from the 60´s. Hockney featured typically colorful southern California architecture and a lot of water. Overall, he was enamoured of the more laid-back, sunny lifestyle that the city of Los Angeles provided. It was around this time that Hockney developed the naturalistic, realistic style he is most known for today. From his 80´s work i like some of his photographic collages. Using a Polaroid camera, Hockney would assemble collages of photos that he would take as quickly as possible.

No More Heroes at "Ashes to Ashes"
The Stranglers -- No More Heroes
Soundtrack from Season 3 episode 3 of the Famous Ashes to Ashes...
No More Heroes by the Stranglers. And here is another song by the stranglers, not from the OS but also nice to listen to...
I´m so glad they show this amazing show again on television every wednesday. Ah and repeated on Sunday evening.I am not shure wich season i liked the most. Clearly things go fast ahead in the last season and i like how it all concludes in one big bang but the first season is also charming whilst Alex is exploring her new world. And those loveley curls she is sporting in the first season, i can´t help but dislike her hairstyle in the second season.
